I've always wanted to try to shoot with a medium format film camera. At first, I've wanted to purchase an Hasselblad 500 series but the price is too expensive for me. The camera itself will cost me more than RM5k and that is NOT including the film and development expenses - which I think is very unreasonable for me to spend that much for an hobby.

After a while searching through the web, I've decided to purchase an almost a mint condition Minolta Autocord with a very reasonable price. Minolta Autocord is a Japanese TLR camera that's competes directly with Rolleiflex which manufactured Franke & Heidecke (and later Rollei GmbH), in Germany.

Kali ni aku nak share pendapat aku mengenai salah faham yang sering dikaitkan dengan Street Photography. Bagi orang yang tak pernah tahu mengenai genre ni, kebiasaannya mereka berpendapat bahawa gambar yang dihasilkan seolah olah tiada makna atau sia-sia.

Maka, untuk memahami apa yang cuba disampaikan atau dipersembahkan oleh Street Photographers - diruangan yang terhad disini aku cuba memperbetulkan pandangan umum mengenainya.

Aku membesar di Kampung Pandan, Kuala Lumpur. Pada tahun 90-an, selain dari Ampang Park, ada beberapa shopping mall lain yang famous antaranya Yow Chuan Plaza (dah takde dah, sekarang dah jadi Integra Tower), Ampang Point, Sogo, Pertama Complex dan Campbell Complex. Sebelum adanya KLCC, kat shopping mall ni lah tempat kami lepak.

Bagi aku, Ampang Park mempunyai memorinya tersendiri...

Sebelum ni aku dah banyak share teknik-teknik komposisi untuk photography (boleh rujuk blog post yang lepas kat sini). Jadi, mungkin ada diantara para pembaca yang tertanya-tanya.. "Macam mana nak ukur komposisi?.. dan apa alat yang kita harus digunakan?"

Maka, untuk slot "Tutorial Mudah" kalini, aku nak share macam mana korang boleh ukur komposisi - dan pada masa yang sama - crop gambar mengikut garisan kompo dengan menggunakan Photoshop.

There is vast option in the photographic genre. Most people choose to photograph because they want to have monetary return of their investment, and some people choose to photograph because they love what they do regardless whether they can get the return of investment or not - and I am one of that person.
