Street photography is the most toughest photography genre for most of the photographers; and that's including myself as well. Until today, I'm still learning about street photography, and to be honest it is not easy to create an exciting images out of mundane ordinary city which I currently live in ~ Kuala Lumpur.
I love challenges and that makes me force myself to keep on shooting. Thanks to Eric Kim for sharing his thought and lessons about what he have learned about street photography from the masters in his blog (click here to jump to his site). I believe there is no other site that has tons of information that you need to know about street photography other than Eric Kim's blog. I've learn a lot from him.
Below is the list of answers why I loved street photography:
- to challenge myself and to train my eyes to see the extraordinary from the ordinary.
- moving away from landscape photography and seeing the world from the local society perspectives.
- love the thrill of chasing the "perfect" moment.
- to fully utilized my gear and focus on pure photography. This helps me a lot on curing the GAS syndrome.
Images below is from my recent street walk in Kuala Lumpur. I'm open for criticism and comments for my improvements. Thanks!
